Movie Review: Heat Team
This is a Hong Kong movie from 2004, starring Aaron Kwok and I think Eason Chan.
This is far more of a comedy than an action movie. Basically 2 cops who are friendly rivals: one a ladies man but somewhat reluctant to get hurt; the other somewhat strait laced and very tough but has a tendency to get pushed around by women. They get transferred to a new unit with a very competent (but also slightly crazy) lady boss. There is a plot about a jewel caper, but that mostly matters because of the interactions they have with one of the crooks, a very attractive young lady.
This was one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. The style of humor is a bit slapstick and crude, but not over the top. More something like Beverly Hills Cop than Police Squad! I laughed a lot while watching it.
The name "Heat Team" actually comes from the fact that where their unit is based, the air conditioning doesn't work, so it's very hot.
